I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to shoot This Is Tomorrow Festival on behalf of Northern Soul, a website dedicated to covering art and culture in Northern England. This Is Tomorrow had relocated to Exhibition Park from the Quayside this year to accommodate more people over more days for more music! This was my first festival and so I was very excited to photograph some huge acts on an equally huge stage.
The festival exhibited a huge variety of bands across it’s three stages, ranging from legendary acts such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics to the chart-topping, internet sensation Lewis Capaldi as well as local hardcore metal bands like GroundCulture. One of the most fun aspects was being able to discover new music - I thoroughly enjoyed Yonaka’s energetic set on the main stage early on Sunday.
Aside from seeing and photographing the bands, as well as generally enjoying the fun festival atmosphere over the course of the weekend, I had plenty of opportunity to catch up with some of the other photographers and hearing their stories from some favourite gigs.
Below is a gallery of some of my favourite shots from the weekend! (Click to see full size!)
